Platform Architecture & Technical Leadership
- Own and evolve the overall Salesforce platform architecture, including data model, automation strategy, security, and integrations
- Assess the existing Salesforce platform to identify structural issues, technical debt, and opportunities for simplification
- Define clear boundaries between Salesforce and external systems, including when and how functionality should be offloaded to third-party platforms
- Make pragmatic architectural tradeoffs between declarative tools, Apex, asynchronous processing, and external services
- Ensure solutions scale across customers while respecting Salesforce limits, performance constraints, and best practices
- Balance near-term delivery needs with long-term platform sustainability in a fast-moving environment
Hands-On Engineering
- Step into implementation to validate architectural approaches, build reference patterns, or unblock critical initiatives
- Build and maintain complex business logic using Apex, Flows, and Lightning Web Components (LWC)
- Design and support APIs, integrations, and data pipelines between Salesforce and external systems
- Own high-impact platform initiatives end-to-end, from design through production support
- Review code and configurations with a focus on maintainability, performance, and long-term clarity
Cross-Functional Partnership
- Act as a trusted technical authority for Engineering, Product, and Customer Success
- Lead design discussions and architectural reviews, challenging solutions that introduce unnecessary complexity
- Mentor engineers on platform thinking, system design, and Salesforce best practices
- Partner with Product to translate business requirements into scalable technical designs
- Support Customer Success and Implementation teams on complex customer scenarios and escalations
- Communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Engineering Excellence
- Establish and uphold engineering best practices around testing, documentation, security, and observability
- Influence roadmap planning and estimation by ensuring technical feasibility and architectural soundness
- Continuously evaluate tools, patterns, and technologies that improve developer velocity and platform reliability
- Promote a culture of thoughtful design, ownership, and continuous improvement
Required Qualifications
- 6+ years of professional Salesforce experience with deep hands-on platform ownership
- Demonstrated experience acting as a technical authority or architect for a Salesforce-based platform or product
- Strong expertise in Apex, Lightning Web Components, Flows, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS
- Proven experience designing Salesforce data models, automation strategies, and integration patterns
- Experience building and supporting production-grade, multi-user Salesforce systems
- Strong understanding of Salesforce limits, performance considerations, and security best practices
- Ability to make pragmatic architectural decisions in fast-moving, ambiguous environments
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across Product, Customer Success, and Engineering
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, MIS, or equivalent practical experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience designing or scaling SaaS products on Salesforce
- Hands-on experience with integrations such as REST or SOAP APIs, middleware or iPaaS tools, and event-driven architectures
- Experience supporting customer-facing implementations or complex enterprise customers
- Familiarity with modern frontend frameworks such as React or Angular
- Salesforce certifications, including Platform Developer I or II, Application Architect, System Architect, or equivalent experience
- Experience establishing CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, or release management practices
